The governor continues his pressure to use the state work force as a political scapegoat and has set up new interactive web features on the Office of Taxpayer Accountability (OTA) website to allow the public to submit, discuss, and vote on ideas to cut government spending and streamline government operations.
We need your help to keep those who advocate severe cuts to the state workforce from monopolizing the debate on this publicly-sponsored website. http://www.straighttalkny.ideascale.com/
If you post to the website, please forward a copy of your comments or suggestions to PEF. You can also help by calling, e-mailing, or writing to your legislators, local papers and blogs to counter the attempts to villianize hard working civil servants. If you are writing or calling to your legislator be sure to:
- Identify yourself as a voting constituent, Public Employees Federation member and State employee;- State you want a sensible and fair State Budget that isn’t balanced on the backs of the state work force passed a.s.a.p.; and,
- That you strongly encourage the members of the Assembly and Senate to consider the cost saving measures identified by PEF.
You can contact your legislator by calling toll-free 1-877-255-9417.
